It seems like this website posts (or converts and posts) videos into Ascii Art.

The movie looks more hi-def with the simple ascii mode.

It reminded me of the AC/DC music video.

As quirky the video may seem, the service itself is real. As seen from its name, this can be understood as an extreme form of counter-movement against the whole social media craze. Although the video is mostly uninformative, I think there are plenty of people who can agree with the things that this guy says (except one thing: scientists do not prove anything, they simply find support for their claims).

Either way, it’s an interesting and unseen service. My only concern is the simplicity of the verification process; Suicide Machine only requires the username and password of the network one wishes to be deleted from. Nothing else. Not even birthdate, secret questions, primary email account, nothing. I just hope it wont be used to pull pranks on others…

というか、それ以前に認証のプロセスの簡易さが心配。強力なツールなだけに、本人確認もっとするべきじゃないのかなぁ。イタズラとかに利用されたら超最悪だし。。

An ingenious font designed by kenji, a Japanese graphic designer. Apparently there isn’t yet a true name for this font, and the author has temporarily named it the “Penis Font” for the sake of convenience.

Ohgaki Kyosai Bank in Gifu Prefecture, Japan, just introduced a collateral-free loan up to 2,000,000 yen (about $22,000) for infertile couples seeking for treatment. Treatments include check-ups with doctors, medications, and formal treaments such as in-vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection. Legally married couples ranging from ages 20-65 years old are eligible, and either the male or female partner can take on the loan.

Maturity can be set within the range of one to five years, and the interest rate is calculated by adding 2.5% onto the prime rate at the time when the loan taken out.

This seems like such a wonderful service that can not just help out, but also give hopes to many couples suffering from infertility. I wish it was not just collateral-free but also interest-free.

It was very nice to see some of the TV Spots that I introduced in this blog winning awards.

I also cried for the first time in my life seeing a TV Spot.

I, however, felt very betrayed when I saw the client.

The TV Spot itself is a wonderful short film that conveys a story in a very simple, powerful, emotional, and beautiful way. I just remember all of my warm fuzzy feelings being blown away by the possibility that the entire spot could have been a missed TV show that is available from this service. It just made me feel like a fool for being so touched by the wonderful visuals and scenario work.

I think this is, hands down, a fabulous artistic work. As an advertisement, though, I only felt betrayed.

ミネアポリスの Walker Art Center で British Television Advertising Awards の上映会があった。

そこで初めて、TVCMを見て泣いた。

でも、クライアント（オンデマンド放送）名をみて、かなりがっかりした。

僕が涙したストーリーが、見逃したテレビのワンシーンだったかも知れないと思うと、涙を流した自分がちょっとばかばかしくなった。映像作品としては、本当に素晴らしいと思う。美しいし、逆再生をアナログで行う手法、ストーリー、全てが本当に美しい作品だと思う。

ただ、そのぶん、最後に裏切られた感じがした。
